If you are one of those that hasn't found a job yet, please make sure you learn a very valuable lesson out of all this: nothing in life will be given to you and sometimes your situation will be very stressful and tough. Additionally as you have found out first hand, you are not entitled to anything and you must work hard to get ahead.
Not being able to find a job this summer is VERY frustrating. You are willing to work but no one will hire you and there just aren't enough jobs out there. It is a feeling of helplessness and at some point you might have even questioned whether you are good enough to get a job.
Not being able to find a job this summer was probably not your fault. This is one of the worst economies we have had in a long time and the unemployment rate is around 10% which is more than double what it normally is. So, many of you never had much of a chance and it took some luck or some good connections to find someone who would hire you.
It is important that you learn from this experience. Next year or next month if you keep searching, you should now have learned to take nothing for granted. Just because you want a job (and maybe even are qualified for it) doesn't mean you will get it. There are many things in life like this that will lead to disappointment so it is good that you are learning this early.
Jobs are sometimes hard to get even when the economy gets better and competition is always high. That is why finishing high school is important and going on to college will increase your chances of getting a better job down the road. Now that you have learned first hand how hard it is to get a job, school should look a whole lot better to you than it did before!
